FAQs | What Happens When You Become Bankrupt?
No, you do not have to contact your creditors your trustee will do that for you. Your trustee will tell your creditors that all communication in relation to their debts will go through the trustee and they are not to contact you. If you are contacted by any creditors that you listed in your bankruptcy you should let your Trustee know, your trustee will ask them to stop contacting you.
In some instances, you may have forgotten to include a creditor, or debt may have been passed on by a creditor to a collection agent. If you missed a creditor in your original application and the debt was incurred in the period prior to the date of bankruptcy, you can include them in your bankruptcy by completing a form that your trustee will provide you.
